If you’re already looking ahead to 2023, Bumble has predicted what the dating landscape will look like for the new year. Here are the biggest trends on the horizon for 2023:


  • A third of daters are open to long-distance relationships

  • Sex-positivity is increasing (53% say discussing sexual wants and needs early is a must, and 34% are cool with not having sex right now)

  • Over a third of daters are willing to date someone who isn’t their typical physical “type”

  • Nearly one third of daters aren’t worried about dating the type of person people expect them to

  • Over half of those surveyed have set more boundaries over the past year

  • 14% say they won’t date someone with an incredibly demanding job

  • Nearly two thirds of daters would rather have a casual and low-cost first date over something expensive

  • Nearly half of men agree that breaking gender stereotypes is beneficial for relationships
