Our Amazon Music picks

Amazon Music Student Discount

If your study playlists need a refresh, Amazon Music’s three-month free offer is the perfect excuse to dive into something new. Here’s our top pick for this month (and also one of the most-streamed albums on Amazon Music right now):

Billie Eilish – HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE)

If you want something that feels a bit more immersive than your usual playlist, Billie Eilish’s HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE) is worth adding.

Dropping on May 1, this live album captures the energy of her latest tour, turning those tracks into a more raw, in-the-moment listening experience. It’s less about polished production and more about atmosphere – the vocals, the crowd, and the emotion all coming through.

If you’ve already had the HIT ME HARD AND SOFT album on repeat, this gives you a new way to experience it. And if not, this is a strong place to start — especially when you need something that hits a little harder during a walk to class or a late-night reset.

Noah Kahan – The Great Divide

If you’re heading into finals season, Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide fits the moment.

Following the success of Stick Season, this album leans into his signature folk-pop sound – emotional, reflective, and easy to keep on repeat during long nights studying.

It came out on April 24, making it perfectly timed for when you need something that matches the mood without distracting you.

Audiobooks are one of the easiest ways to fit reading into your routine. Walking to class, commuting, or resting between study sessions – all you have to do is just press play.

With the Amazon Audible student discount, you can start with a free trial and explore titles like this:

Off-Campus series – Elle Kennedy

If you want something easy to get into, the Off-Campus series is a solid place to start.

Beginning with The Deal, the story follows a fake-dating romance between a music major and a college hockey captain. It’s light, character-driven, and built around relationships, friendships, and all the chaos that comes with college life.

With five books in the series (The Deal, The Mistake, The Score, The Goal, and The Legacy), it’s the kind of listen you can stick with beyond just one title.

The Housemaid & The Housemaid’s Secret – Freida McFadden

If you’re after something more intense, this series delivers.

The Housemaid follows Millie Calloway, who takes a job working for a wealthy family - only to find herself caught in a tense, unpredictable situation. In The Housemaid’s Secret, the story continues with a new household, new secrets, and even higher stakes.

With a recent film adaptation starring Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney (and another already announced!), there’s a lot of attention around this series right now, making it a strong pick if you want something gripping to chat to all your friends about.

Seek the Traitor’s Son – Veronica Roth

If you’re looking for something more immersive, Seek the Traitor’s Son blends dystopian storytelling with romantasy elements.

Set between two warring nations, the story combines political tension with a fated-lovers dynamic, all centered around a dangerous force known as “Fever.”

Written by Veronica Roth (known for the Divergent series), this release leans into more mature themes and a slightly more artistic tone, making it one to keep on your radar.

Our Prime Video picks

With the Amazon Prime student discount, you get access to Prime Video, meaning you can stream series and live content without paying extra.

Here’s what we’d recommend adding to your watchlist this month:

Off Campus

If you’re in the mood for something easy to watch, Off Campus drops on Prime Video on May 13, bringing classic college romance energy.

The series follows the relationship between a music student and a star hockey player, exploring friendships, relationships, and figuring things out as you go.

Adapted from the popular book series mentioned above, it leans into that emotional, coming-of-age feel.

Spider-Noir

If you want something visually different, Spider-Noir stands out straight away.

Starring Nicolas Cage, this Amazon Original is set in a 1930s noir-style New York, following a darker take on a superhero story. It’s being released in two formats: full color and authentic black and white, leaning heavily into its aesthetic.

The series officially premieres in the US on May 25, but it won't be released on Prime Video until May 27, so prepare to feel the buzz building around it.

WNBA live coverage

If you want something live to follow, Prime Video is stepping up its WNBA coverage this season.

Starting May 8, Prime Video will stream 30 exclusive regular-season games, alongside the Commissioner’s Cup Championship game. Looking ahead, coverage will also include playoff series and WNBA Finals games as part of a new long-term deal.

It’s an easy way to stay connected to live sports throughout the month when you want to wind down after classes.

The Boys

If you’ve been following the newest season of The Boys, this is where everything wraps up.

The final episode of the fifth and last season drops on May 20, closing out the story between Butcher and Homelander.

Expect the same dark, over-the-top tone the series is known for; just pushed even further for the finale.

Stay tuned for what's to come next month – and remember to take advantage of your Amazon student discount offers today.
