Fancy travelling for free next week?

We know the price of train tickets has been through the roof recently, so this little freebie might have come at just the right time.

In fact, rail fares are set to increase by 5.9% this month, which will mean it'll cost you even more money to travel home to see your family. Luckily, we've got a great solution (and plenty of others if this deal isn't quite right for you!)

We know you're probably desperate for a weekend at home, or maybe a trip to see your friends at another uni, so how about travelling there for free?

Let us show you how…

West Midlands Railway is giving away 10,000 free train tickets between Monday 13th March and Friday 24th March 2023. What a steal, right?

You can claim your free tickets in advance on their website for travel between Monday 20 March to Friday 24 March 2023.

Before you just try and ride the train for free, though, you do still have to book a ticket — and on a specific train too.

To claim your free ticket, you book as usual through West Midlands Railway's website or app and use the code CHOOSEDAY at checkout.

There are a few rules that you need to bare in mind when booking your ticket to ensure you can claim the deal:

  • The train needs to be a West Midlands Railway train

  • The journey must take place within the West Midlands Railway zonal areas (1-5)

  • The code can be used on adult or child Anytime tickets

  • The free ticket is not available at stations, on board trains, or at station ticket machines.

For the full list of T&Cs, visit the West Midlands Railway website where you can find more information too.

Missed out on this deal? Not to worry! You can still claim tons of discounts on your travel with your Student Beans discount. Don't miss out on 20% off a railcard which could save you a third on every journey you make.
