Getting a degree is sleepy work.
Let's face it, a good sleep schedule is not something most students will have. From frequent nights out to late-night study sessions at the library, if you're an evening person over a morning person this can have a huge impact on your sleeping pattern.
Getting any degree can definitely lead to some lost sleep but it turns out some degrees are way more likely to be missing out on those essential sleeping hours.
Bed Kingdom has released some expert research to create a ranking of the most sleep-deprived unis based on work placements, contact hours, student satisfaction and more and the results were super interesting.
What uni course is the most sleep-deprived?
Architecture, building and planning
Medicine
Physical sciences
Veterinary sciences
Maths
Dentistry
Computing
Engineering and technology
Creative arts and design
General sciences
Combined and general studies
Humanities and liberal arts
Biology and sports sciences
Agriculture and food-related studies
Education and teaching
So, there you have it! It comes as no surprise to see courses such as medicine and dentistry coming up at the top, but it might be a surprise to see physical sciences which can include chemistry and geology and architecture as number 1. Let's be fair, all degrees are sleepy work and learning how to balance studying, working and having a social life is a hard thing to do so if you're currently trying to work out how to cram things into one day and night then you're doing an amazing job.
